Amelia Andersson-Nickson

Amelia is a Canberra-based performer; happiest when singing and dancing. She pursued and studied her passions in Sydney at Brent Street, where she starred in two in-house productions: Gypsy as Rose (2021), and Kiss Me Kate as Katherine ‘Kate’/Lilli Vanessi (2022). For extra curricular thrills she performed in Backstage UTS’s production of In Pieces as Grey (2022).

After returning from Sydney, she performed as an Ensemble member, Trio understudy, and dance captain in Little Shop of Horrors (Dramatic Productions, 2024), The Baker, and a Wife in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat (Canberra Philharmonic Society, 2025), and Alice Beineke in The Addams Family (Canberra Philharmonic Society, 2025) – for which her performance won a Canberra Critics’ Circle Award and the ‘Lola Nixon’ CAT Award for ‘Best Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical’.

Most recently, she played Olive Ostrovsky in The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee (Canberra Philharmonic Society, 2026).
