Charley is a proud trans woman born and raised on Ngunnawal and living on Gadigal land. A multifaceted theatre and performance maker and Co Artistic Director of House of Sand, she holds a BA (Acting), and an MFA (Directing) from NIDA. She has created a slate of acclaimed work at House of Sand including the NSW and SA premiere production of Alice Birch’s REVOLT.SHE SAID. REVOLT AGAIN and the multi-artform epic That Was Friday. She has directed work across Australia, and internationally including at STCSA, ActNow, BATS, and Paul Lucas Prod. NYC, and assisted directors at STC and Opera Australia. She has created and performed two sellout solo cabaret’s, A Modest Exhibit and Queer, and appeared in productions for companies including STCSA, Papermoon, Catchy Title, and recently understudied the lead role in Triple X at STC. Her play The House Collector was read at KXT Storytellers Festival 2023 and a new musical with writer/composer Nick Delatovic is in development with CTC. 

Charley is an audio describer for blind and low vision audiences, a business consultant to creative entrepreneurs through Creative+Business, has held managerial positions at Sydney Fringe and Sydney WorldPride, and is LGBTQIA+ Co-Chair of the MEAA Equity Diversity Committee.
