Headshot for Geoffrey Borny

Geoffrey Borny

Geoffrey retired from his position as Reader and Head of Theatre Studies at ANU in 2003 after having taught Drama and Theatre Studies at universities for 30 years. Since coming to Canberra in 1991 he has directed or performed in numerous productions. His latest acting roles were in Under Milk Wood, Home At The End, The Burning, The Crucible, Casanova, The History Boys and 12 Angry Men.

During his long theatrical career Geoffrey has received a number of Canberra Critics Circle Awards (four for Directing and two for Acting). He has also received one Canberra Area Theatre Best Actor Award and has won Canberra Repertory’s Helen Wilson Award for Acting in a comedy on four occasions.

I am delighted to have the opportunity to perform on stage again after having spent a number of years “resting”! It has been a joy to work with such a wonderful team of theatrically creative people. I hope audiences get as much pleasure from seeing this production as I have had rehearsing and performing in it.
