James’ recent theatre credits include Truth for Malthouse Theatre, Sunday and Into the Shimmering World for Sydney Theatre Company, and My Sister Jill and A Streetcar Named Desire for Melbourne Theatre Company. James was also an Australian original cast member of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child (Michael Cassel Group/Sonia Freedman Productions).

His television credits include Home and Away, Last King of the Cross, Lambs of God, Top of the Lake: China Girl, Secret River, Bite Club, Dead Lucky, Miss Fisher’s Murder Mysteries and Underbelly Files: Chopper.  

His film credits include Hacksaw Ridge, War Machine and The Nightingale.James has been nominated for several Green Room awards for his work on the Melbourne stage including 2026 nominations for Best Ensemble and Best Production (Theatre Companies) for Patricia Cornelius’ Truth. He is a graduate of the VCA School of Drama and is a proud MEAA Equity member since 2009.
