Leo Amadeus

Leo Amadeus is an actor, writer and musician who performs regularly in Canberra as a pianist, singer, actor and musical director. They have two studio albums — the most recent being Just a Little Bit Mad — and a solo musical comedy show (Horse Brother) that has been performed in Canberra several times and toured to both Sydney and Melbourne in fringe and comedy festivals.

Leo has performed in choirs (ANU Chamber Choir, ANU Choral Society), musicals and operettas (“Light of the World” and “We Beseech Thee Singer” in Godspell, Perform Australia; Njegus in The Merry Widow, National Opera; Major General Stanley in The Pirates of Penzance, Perform Australia), plays (Inspector Lord in Spider’s Web, Canberra REP; Feste in Twelfth Night, Perform Australia), TV (Austin, ABC), as an instrumentalist in live concerts (Step Into the Limelight Gala, Instrumental Music Program; A New Pope, ANU Arts Revue) and as an accompanist (ACT Young Voices & Chorale, Sing Australia). Leo also spent much of their childhood performing in Junior Musical Theatre (Sonny Malone in Xanadu Jr., Rum Tum Tugger in Cats – Youth Edition, Friedrich in Getting to Know the Sound of Music).

Above all, Leo loves to share music with everyone — and believes that music is the best way to connect to emotions and the soul.
