Michael Sparks OAM is a Canberra-based actor and theatre-maker. Recent stage performances include: Saunders in Lend Me a Tenor, The Man in Baby Jane, Uncle Charlie in August: Osage County, Dr Dorn in Seagull, Gloucester in King Lear, Robin in The Children, Andy in Love Letters, George in Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf, Big Daddy in Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Jim Casy in The Grapes of Wrath, Korzh in The Woman in the Window, Atticus Finch in To Kill a Mockingbird, and Creature in Dr Frankenstein. He has also been seen on television in The Prime Minister is Missing, Rake, and Total Control. His film work includes Light Switch, and Animal as well as short films Men of Ice, No Problems Here, Black Crows and Tide. As a set designer he has designed musicals such as Les Misérables and Marry Me a Little as well as a large number of plays including Present Laughter, Blithe Spirit, Crimes of the Heart, The Crucible, Lord of the Flies, Steel Magnolias and The Woman in the Window. He is the recipient of multiple Canberra Area Theatre Awards, Canberra Critics Circle Awards, Ovation Awards and Free Rain Theatre and Canberra Repertory company awards. Michael is delighted to be working with this talented group of cast and creatives and is, as ever, grateful to his family for their love and support.
