Eureka Day

Written by Jonathan Spector
Directed by Jarrad West
Presented by ACT Hub

Hailed as one of the most incisive comedies of the decade — and winner of last year’s Tony Award for Best Revival of a Play — Jonathan Spector’s Eureka Day arrives at ACT Hub with a riotous bang.

At the ultra-progressive Eureka Day School, every decision is made by consensus, every voice deserves space… and nothing is more sacred than community harmony. But when a mumps outbreak hits the Bay Area, the school’s earnest, well-meaning board is thrown into a meltdown of Zoom call mayhem, weaponised wokeness, and parental pandemonium.

As ideals collide with reality, the pursuit of perfect inclusivity unravels into one of the most brilliantly chaotic meetings ever staged — a comedy of manners for the age of the group chat.

Smart, satirical, and alarmingly relatable, ACT Hub’s production of Eureka Day serves up big laughs and bigger questions about how communities survive when everyone has a voice… and no one can agree.
