The Beauty Queen of Leenane

Written by Martin McDonagh
Directed by Cate Clelland
Presented by Free-Rain Theatre

In a small, rural cottage in Connemara County Galway, plain, middle-aged Maureen and her ageing, manipulative mother, Mag, live their isolated existence.

When it seems that Maureen might have her first, and probably last, romantic encounter, her mother does all she can to undermine and sabotage the relationship.

A darkly comic and at the same time devastating play, The Beauty Queen of Leenane explores the dark side of human nature and the malevolence of people living hopeless lives.

RUN TIME: 2hrs 10 mins including interval.
