”I can’t pay the rent!’
‘You must pay the rent!’
‘I’ll pay the rent for you!’
‘Yay!’
This timeless story makes for a perfect musical. But let’s do 5 of them instead!
This off-Broadway smash hit tells the same simple story 5 times in the style of 5 different geniuses of musical theatre:
- Rodgers & Hammerstein (Corn!)
- Stephen Sondheim (A Little Complex)
- Jerry Herman (Dear Abby!)
- Andrew Lloyd Webber (Aspects of Junita)
- Kander & Ebb (Speakeasy)
After sellout seasons in 2009 and 2013 – 11 years later, like an exhumed corpse or crossover episode, we’re dragging ourselves out of retirement, putting on our basic blacks, and getting (most of) the gang back together!
“Funny, charming and refreshing! It hits its targets with sophisticated affection!” – New York Magazine
RUN TIME: 100 minutes (including 20 min interval)
