William ‘Wally’ Allington (he/they)

William “Wally” Allington is a Canberra-based actor, singer and educator. Raised in Sydney, Wally trained in classical voice and performed in a wide variety of choirs, musicals and comedy revues.

Wally took a break from theatre to complete a PhD on online antisemitism, abuse, and disinformation. He now combines his research and performance skills to deliver interactive presentations that help young people challenge discrimination and misinformation, which they have presented across Australia since 2019.

Since moving to Canberra in 2020, Wally has performed with a range of theatre companies across the region. Recent roles include Samuel in The Pirates of Penzance, Danilo in The Merry Widow, Theo in American Idiot, Tony in West Side Story, Lyle in Footloose, and the Boatswain in HMS Pinafore.

Wally is thrilled to perform as Tito Merelli in Lend me a Tenor, marking their first show with Free-Rain Theatre and ACT Hub.
