The 24 Hour Hub-Athon 2026
The Hub-Athon is back: bigger, bolder, longer. We’re performing 24 hours of non-stop play readings from 6pm Saturday 2 May to 6pm Sunday 3 May 2026 to raise funds for ACT Hub.
Now in its third year, the Hub-Athon has grown from a 12-hour event into a full day-and-night theatrical marathon celebrating the depth of creative talent this city has to offer.
Eleven plays.
85+ characters.
30+ actors.
Zero sleep (optional).
No sets.
No costumes.
Just storytelling.
Raw, simple, genuine theatre at its best.
Come for an hour, stay for the madness, and join us for a drink to celebrate the finish line.
Follow along on Facebook and Instagram for live updates PLUS a couple of surprise announcements…
We can’t wait to share it with you.
Fundraising goals
ACT Hub does not receive any government funding, so our patrons, donors and partners are vital to nourish, support and sustain the talented collective of Canberran theatre practitioners who congregate and create here at ACT Hub.
As Australia’s capital, Canberra deserves to experience exciting, vibrant theatre and for it to be performed by the brilliant array of talent this city has to offer.
All funds raised go directly towards supporting ACT Hub and its ongoing work to nurture and champion local artists and creatives so they can thrive both here in the ACT and beyond.
Your donation will:
- invest in our long-term sustainability by contributing towards the purchase of our own technical equipment, saving us in hire fees and ensuring we can continue to produce the kind of challenging, high-quality theatre that has earned ACT Hub multiple Canberra Critics Circle Awards since opening in 2022;
- allow us to deliver new programs that support the development of Canberra’s theatre makers and their artistic success in the ACT and beyond; and
- contribute to a sustainable future for ACT Hub through varied income streams.
The Hub-Athon is as much a community occasion as it is a theatrical one. This is your chance to be part of Canberra’s independent theatre community; to come together and show what we’re made of.
All donations over $2 are tax deductible.
